The point of pay per click marketing is to get people to click on your ad and then follow your call to action, whether that be a click on a button, filling out a survey, making a phone call, or making a purchase. With pay per click ads it doesn’t matter so much what your budget is but that you have the most creative advertisement.

If you want conversions, your ad first needs to attract your targeted audience’s attention. We may or may not realize it, but most of us at least skim PPC ads when they appear on a site. This is why it is so important that the ad be attractive and really grabs a viewer’s attention. The ad and headline need to attract attention and be so attractive and enticing that the targeted audience can’t help but to click through to the site.

The headline or title of the ad, in very few words, will need to grab the attention of the target audience and give a good idea of what the site is about. The targeted keywords need to be included in the headline, as well as in the body. The title should have the first letter of each word capitalized; this will help draw attention to the headline.

Many people view ads with mistrust, they don’t want to be scammed. A way to combat this mistrust is to place a testimonial on the landing page. You might even reference the testimonials in the ad.

Your ad needs to be creative yet direct. When writing a PPC ad copy remember that it needs to grab attention, interest, desire, and present a call to action. You can be creative with the wording of your ad copy but you don’t want to confuse the audience. While being creative and unique be specific about what it is that you do or what you are selling. Do not create a generic ad but instead something that will stand out, get your point across in the most unique way you can. Include a few words in your ad that command a person to do something. Adding this call to action element to the ad is known to make a difference.

Ads that are unclear or generic may lead to clicks but they will not lead to conversions. This is one way to spend a lot of money on a failing campaign. You pay for every click so you want every click to turn into a conversion. This is why your ad needs to be specific so you get the targeted audience.

Writing a good ad copy for your pay per click marketing campaign is crucial to the success of the campaign. If you haven’t created an ad before it will take some time to perfect but stick with it and you will learn. The more ads you write the more you will understand your audience and what they respond to, you will understand what it is about your product that the targeted audience responds to and you will find it easier to write ads.

Be sure to take the time to test your ads and then make changes if they are necessary. A PPC ad is not something that you just push out there and leave. It takes a hands-on approach to have a successful pay per click marketing campaign. Sometimes just changing one or two words can make a big difference. The above tips will help you on your way to a successful pay per click ad copy.
